Dress Up
I have everything I need.
I have everything I need.
I have everything I need.
I should write this 100 times over everyday so I don’t feel compelled to acquire everything I want.
I should write this 100 times over everyday to remind myself to look through my closet and rediscover the cool things I already have. And today, the day before Black Friday sales mania gets me in its grip, I should use this sentence to stop me before I shop for things I don’t need.
Mr. Andrew and I went to see Jojo Rabbit on the weekend. It was a wonderful film that really made you think about all kinds of things : hate, love, humanity, representation (is it wrong to depict Nazis in a humorous way — I’d argue that satire takes the power away from them). But for the purpose of this blog, I wanted to talk about how much I loved the onscreen wardrobe of the lead actresses Scarlett Johansson and Thomasin McKenzie.
I loved their patterned knits and the classic 1940s mannish tailoring and the sentimental lockets. But instead of going out and shopping for new old things, I’ve been going through the drawers and digging out the retro jewels and vintage vibe clothes.
Because I have everything I need.
PS. Thanks to Mr. Andrew for the photoshopped photo! Rainbows!
